Yard Card Rental FAQ!
Thank you for considering The Yard Card Guy to help you celebrate your next event with a yard card greeting! Below are some FAQ’s about our service. Please feel free to message us with any further questions, we’d be happy to help!
Q) What are your delivery fees?
A) Our delivery fees can be found by clicking here.
Q) How long do I keep the yard card?
A) Typical sign rentals are for a 36-48 hour period, unless at a public place ie: playground, park, etc. Those locations are event time rentals. What the display longer? Let us know! If they are available a charge of $20 per day is applied.
Q) When do you deliver the yard card?
A) Typical rentals are day of the event or can be the night before (after 8pm) depending on the location of delivery.
Public places such as parks are day of event deliveries.
Q) When do you pick up the yard card and what do I need to do?
A) This is easy peasy! We will show back up and remove the display around 36-48 hours later. We are very easy going, want the display down early? please let us know. Do not remove it ahead of time.
Q) Under what weather circumstances will my rental be canceled?
A) If winds are over 25 mph, there is more then 3” of snow on grassy areas, or icy conditions we will cancel or reschedule your display.
Q) If my Yard Card is canceled because of weather, will I get a refund?
A) Yes! 100% refund or a credit for a future event, unless we are able to reschedule.
Q) How far in advance do I need to book?
A) The earlier the better! Weekend dates typically book up a few months in advance. June is our busiest month with it beind sold out generally by end of April.
TERMS OF YARD CARD GREETINGS RENTALS!
All yard greetings are rentals and remain property of The Yard Card Guy.
Certain color and prop request are not guaranteed.
PAYMENT / REFUNDS
If booking online payment is due at time of booking and must be clear within 48 hours of delivery.
If you choose not to book online, payment is due 48 hours before the event.
No checks accepted. Due to issues in the past NO PAYMENT is handled at delivery.
Yard Card Greetings are for a 36-48-hour period. This does not apply if the greetings are set up at a public place
ie: playground, park, etc. If additional days are needed, they may be purchased for $20 per day.
The Yard Card Guy will not set up in hazardous weather conditions (lighting, wind speeds over 25mph, or snowstorm weather). If hazardous conditions occur on your event set up date, we will do our best to get your display up. If we cannot, a full refund will be issued.
If hazardous weather events occur while the yard greeting is displayed in your yard we can come and remove it early to protect the greeting from damage.
If you need to cancel, a full refund can be issued as long as the cancellation notice is received 72 hours before the event.
Reschedules are allowed but based on availability.
No refunds if the greeting is required to come down early due to HOA.
DROP OFF / SET UP PROCEDURE
Please water your lawn for two (2) days prior to us setting up the greeting. This loosens the soil and make the installation easier.
Day before event set ups begin after 8pm. If you need a certain time frame, please let us know at booking. Please have the porch light on.
If we are installing the greeting at a yard other than the booking party, you are agreeing to these terms that someone at the property is aware we will be placing a greeting in the yard.
If we are setting up at a public location ie: park, playground, etc You as the renter are responsible for the yard card during the time the display is up until one of our staff members arrive for removal.
The Yard Card Guy will take a photograph of the greeting set up for social media and our website. We will try and blur out any address that are visible. If you wish to not have the picture featured on social media and the website, please let us know before installation.
We will place a rented by The Yard Card Guy sign in your yard. If you do not wish to have that sign placed, please let us know. Do not remove the sign once it's placed in the yard.
WHILE THE GREETING IS AT YOUR HOME
Please do not move, touch, lean on the greeting.
Keep pets away from the greeting.
Reschedule any lawn service, so they do not occur while the greeting is set up. PLEASE DO NOT CUT YOUR GRASS AROUND THE YARD CARD. THIS WILL RESULT IN GRASS TRIMMINGS THAT RUIN THE INK AND YOU WILL BE CHARGED A REPLACEMENT FEE.
Please make sure sprinkler systems are off.
Please do not attach anything to the greeting. If you like, we can set up “balloon stakes” that use you attach balloons too if needed.
The Yard Card Guy will not be held liable for damage or injuries that occur while the greeting is installed.
Any excess damage or missing items will be billed to the client at a cost of $20 per letter, $20 per flair/prop item missing, and $5.00 per stake.
PICK UP PROCEDURES
Typical pick up on private property is the following day after the event.
Please do not remove any of the greeting early to avoid damage. If you would like an earlier pick up, please let us know.
We reserve the right to decline orders that are political, controversial, lewd, disrespectful or that do not fit the nature of our business. If an order is declined, a full refund will be given.
